New Zealand's only team in the Australian National Rugby League (NRL) competition, the Vodafone Warriors are based at Mt Smart Stadium full time. The Vodafone Warriors have played at Mt Smart Stadium since their debut NRL season back in 1995 and experienced a fantastic year in 2007 making the finals for the first time since 2003 and hosting a thrilling home semi against the Parramatta Eels. Mt Smart is lucky enough to host at least 12 home games per season filling up the stands with dedicated Warriors fans, rain or shine.
Formerly known as Soccer 2, the Auckland Football Federation have been a tenant of Mt Smart Stadium since for many years. AFF is responsible for local growth and developing the game in their region through improving systems, enhancing communication with members, and being more accountable to football being developed rather than purely administered. Federations have combined coaching, refereeing playing and administrating functions, across all ages, grades, diversions; competitive and social, clubs and schools. They are also responsible for constructing their own infrastructure, funding their activities and developing their own visions and plans to grow the sport with their own geographical boundaries and communities.
Athletics Auckland are a long term tenant at Mt Smart Stadium and are based alongside the No. 2 Arena. The club host regular meetings on the No.2 Arena and was the site for the first all weather track in Auckland. The current set-up is full competition facility, which can cater for everything from primary school sport days up to Oceania Championships. As a training venue, the track is open all reasonable hours when there are no prior bookings.
